Trafficking
Trafficking of women and children has been an issue for the Federation Peace and Justice coordinators for several years. The scope is from trafficking for prostitution to housekeeping, to farming, etc. Victims are transported all over the globe, not just in the US, to be used by a whole scope of abusers, including US tourists and businessmen. Work can be done through legislation, shareholder activity, raising awareness, and local shelters and agencies that help those caught in the trafficking. Areas of focus for addressing the issue as shareholders are hotel chains, tourism agencies, airlines, etc.
If you are interested in working on this issue, please contact Mary Ellen Loch at meloch@csjoseph.org or Marilyn Nickol at mnickol@csjoseph.org
